Professor Sihua Yang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biophotonics at South China Normal University, visited our institute for academic exchange on November 2, 2018. During the visit, he delivered an academic lecture titled "Multi-scale Photoacoustic Microscopy Imaging: Medical Applications and Clinical Translation."  

In his presentation, Professor Yang introduced his team's research on photoacoustic imaging technology, including its biomedical applications and the development of related instrumentation.

Professor Sihua Yang is currently a research professor and doctoral supervisor at South China Normal University, serving as Deputy Director of the Institute of Biophotonics, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Laser Life Science under the Ministry of Education, and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Novel Ultrasound Imaging Equipment. He was awarded the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in 2018 and received his Ph.D. in Optics from South China Normal University in 2009. His notable honors include the Second Prize of Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education (2013), Second Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award (Inventive Category, 2009), the American Association of Physicists in Medicine's "Sylvia Sorkin Greenfield Award" (2008), and China's Significant Optical Achievements Award (2008). Additionally, he holds concurrent positions as Vice Chair of the Biomedical Photonics Division of the Chinese Optical Society and Secretary-General of the Guangdong Biophysical Society.
