Dr. Liu Liangjian passed the doctoral dissertation defense with full marks

On May 6, 2025, a doctoral dissertation defense meeting was held in Conference Room B220 of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Liu Liangjian's doctoral dissertation titled "Research on High-speed and Large-field-of-view Optical/Acoustic Microscopic Imaging Technology and Its Application in Neurovascular Coupling in the Brain" was unanimously approved by the defense committee, and he was recommended to be awarded a Doctor of Engineering degree. The defense was chaired by Professor Guan Bai'ou from Jinan University. The members of the defense committee included Professor Xi Lei from Southern University of Science and Technology, Researcher Jin Long from South China Normal University, Researcher Liang Yizhi from Jinan University, Associate Professor Liu Wei from Harbin Institute of Technology, as well as Researchers Zheng Wei and Gong Xiaojing from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology. Dr. Song Zheng served as the defense secretary. During the defense, Student Liu Liangjian reported on the research background and innovative achievements of the project, and demonstrated the progress of high-speed and large-field-of-view optical/acoustic microscopic imaging technology in neurovascular coupling research. Dr. Liu Liangjian's research paper focuses on the study of high-speed and large-field-of-view photoacoustic/fluorescence multimodal microscopic imaging technology. Through technological innovations such as multi-faceted rotating mirrors and transducer arrays, it has expanded the theoretical boundaries of the spatial bandwidth product, achieved synchronous optimization of imaging speed, field of view, and resolution, and provided new tools for neurovascular coupling research in the brain. The related achievements have recently been accepted by Science Advances. The defense committee unanimously agreed that the research has both theoretical depth and practical value. After a secret ballot by the defense committee, Student Liu Liangjian passed the defense with an "excellent" grade. We extend our warm congratulations to him!
